What We Do...

It is our mission to mobilize the body of Christ to reach our world with the gospel. Our mission trips are:

  • Outreach Oriented: we are involved in ministry activities designed to reach lost people. Depending on the kind of trip, these activities could include: sports tournaments, spiritual surveys, community service projects, or even gathering people for strategic events.
  • Local Church Based: We partner with a local church and serve its ministry and outreach initiatives. This gives focus and context to our ministry efforts, and ensures that proper follow-up and discipleship can take place with people we reach.
  • Personally Rewarding: We work to ensure that participants have a great time. We work hard, play hard, and grow as a team with each other, and as Christians with God. And we take time out to enjoy the natural beauty and rich history of our host city.

 

mission to Ukraine

Momentum Missions was formed out the experiences of our founder, Tom Jackson. When he was 23, he went on a short-term missions trip to the Soviet Union (in what is now Ukraine) that changed his life. He took several youth groups on missions trips to Ukraine and was involved in helping to plant churches there. Eventually he and his family moved to Ukraine. In looking back on this time, he explains: "Short-term mission trips played a key role in advancing the gospel and encouraging Ukrainian Christians. Many lives were touched by the love of Christ expressed through people on these mission trips."

mission to Scotland 

While in Ukraine, God began leading Tom to plant a church in Edinburgh, Scotland. Remembering the positive impact that short-term missions had made in Ukraine, he set about organizing trips that could assist the church plant. Since 2003, Momentum Missions has hosted numerous mission trips to Edinburgh that have experienced lives being touched and transformed by the power of the gospel.

mission to Europe

Europe needs the gospel. It is our mission to mobilize the body of Christ to missions involvement in Europe. Over the next several years we will be expanding our reach into several other nations throughout Europe. We will be partnering with local pastors to help them reach their cities with the gospel.

mission to the Ends of the Earth

Europe is in desperate need of the gospel. Our focus over the next several years will be to penetrate the darkness in Europe with the light of Jesus Christ. From there, who knows? It's a big world and we've got a lot of work to do! Will you join us?
